Dear member of the Detroit Waldorf School community,
We are working on many fronts to renew the impulse of Waldorf education so that it is relevant to the needs of our time. In particular, we see the need for our students to understand the current call for racial reckoning in America and the growing desire for a more just and equitable society. These conversations are important, and we are working together to understand how to engage in ways that help our students understand the world around them.
As we move forward with this essential, sensitive work, we need your valuable input for the AWSNA Climate, Diversity and Inclusion Survey in order to better understand where we are and the next steps we need to take as a community concerning this important work.
Please complete one survey for each of the roles you hold within our community, preferably May 3, 2021, but no later than May 21, 2021. The survey links below are listed in order of priority, in case you can’t get to them all. Please complete each survey (about 50 questions) in one sitting and be sure to hit the “Submit” button at the end.
All survey responses are completely anonymous. This survey is facilitated through a professional research group, Panorama Education, supported by AWSNA as part of a continental-wide aim to support schools in the advancement of equity and inclusion. The results of the survey will be used to identify areas in which we need to improve and grow for the benefit of the students and families that we serve. Your responses will be protected and remain private. Participating schools will receive individual school data, as well as AWSNA
aggregate data.
Feel free to pass this email on to any former members of our community who may not be on our mailing list. Thank you for your help in moving this important work forward. Please feel free to email me via crodgershill@gmail.com with questions.
