Our Alumni
“Of the skills I’ve acquired in the course of my career, none serves me more essentially than my Waldorf education. Apart from a strong grounding in history, culture, languages and the arts, DWS provided a space in which to open and nurture my imagination, often in ways I did not fully appreciate until adulthood. Being now in a field that each day presents creative, logistic and organizational challenges, I value the capacities to visualize and innovate that Waldorf helped develop.” ~David Bush, DWS Class of 1977, Film Set Decorator
Graduates of Detroit Waldorf School attend a variety of public and private high schools throughout Metro Detroit and eventually to an impressive roster of universities, including George Washington University, UCLA, Columbia, Wayne State, University of Michigan, Yale and more.
DWS alumni go on to thrive in a variety of fields, including the arts, sciences, health and social services, and the humanities. To read more about our students from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, see editions of our alumni newsletter, Familiar Faces, below.
