Strategic Plan: 2024-2027
Our Path Forward
Detroit Waldorf School’s 2024-2027 Strategic Plan builds off of the school's previous five-year plan interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, incorporating updated feedback from our community to address current needs and prepare for future opportunities.
This plan is informed by the experiences and perspectives of all school constituencies — students, parents and family members, teachers and assistants, administration and staff, board members, and alumni — using qualitative and quantitative data collected from surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
The following pages provide an four-pillar actionable plan which includes:
Curriculum and Program Enrichment
Advancement and Financial Wellbeing
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)
Future Expansion
In addition to these four pillars, it is important to note that this plan may include two significant updates over the course of the next three years. The first is related to the topic of School Governance, which has been identified as an area of study to be considered as a fifth pillar of this plan. The second is the incorporation of recommendations from the upcoming AWSNA and ISACS accreditation visit in 2025.
This planning process continues to be led by the Strategic Planning Committee in partnership with the DWS Board of Trustees and school leadership. Much time, effort, and care went into the development of this strategic plan and we appreciate everyone who has been a part of this vital process in support of Detroit Waldorf School.
