Wellness at Waldorf FREE Cooking Program
with Chef Aris!
Students joined professional chef, Aris Nueva Espana, for a series of free cooking classes after school.
Chef Aris graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in the spring of 2005. He cut his culinary teeth in New York city working for Nobu, Cafe Grey and SOHO house. He then moved to San Francisco, training under the chefs of Boulevard and Incanto, now Cockscomb. Needing a break from restaurants he worked for a non profit called Project Open Hand as well as working in farmers markets. He then moved to Michigan to be close to family, where he ran Dime store and was part of the opening team for Marrow and Mink Detroit.
Each class was designed for a specific grade level and included knife skills for grades 7-8 and glass sugar making for grades 6-8.
