Dan White

Pianist and eurythmy accompanist

Dan White earned his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Wayne State University in Detroit. He retired from teaching instrumental music in 2018 after a 30-year career in the public schools. Twenty-four of those were in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, where he served as Director of Bands at Grosse Pointe South High School (1998-2010) and also taught AP Music Theory, Music Technology, and Music Appreciation. Dan has conducted at Detroit's Orchestra Hall, Music Hall, and Institute of Arts and also on concert stages in New York, Chicago, Toronto, Orlando, and at the Royal Academy of Music in London. His Grosse Pointe South HS Jazz Band was featured at the Detroit Jazz Festival numerous times and appeared at several professional venues in the Detroit area. Dan continues to perform professionally on piano and saxophone, and when not doing music enjoys being outdoors and perfecting his waffle recipe.
