Faculty: Maggie Raftery
She/Her
3rd Grade Assistant
Maggie found her way to Waldorf education through first living and working at a Camphill Community in Santa Cruz, CA, where through an anthroposophical approach she shared life and cared for people of all different capabilities and ages. She has worked as a behavior technician in the past specifically for kids that are on the Autism spectrum, and has cared for children in many different teaching and caregiving formats throughout her life. A lover of music and the arts and the healing they bring, she is excited to continue to grow creatively as an artist and to share that with kids as well. She is looking forward to helping coach Special Olympics soccer in this upcoming spring season, and is happiest on a long hike or walk, usually with her journal somewhere nearby for continued writing. Originally born and raised in the Metro Detroit area, Maggie is so happy to have joined the DWS community and to continue education and training in becoming a Waldorf Early Childhood teacher in the future.
