Faculty: Jessica Robertson
First Grade Class Teacher
Jessica is beginning a new chapter in Waldorf teaching here at DWS this fall, having recently graduated her second group of eighth graders from a combined class at Sierra Waldorf School, in Jamestown California. The Robertson family -- Jessica, her husband Adam, Averie (rising highschool junior) and Eliza (rising 2nd grader) are enjoying all the adventures in the local parks that Detroit has to offer, as well as the close proximity to family in Indiana.
Jessica completed her Waldorf Teacher's Certificate through the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teaching in El Sobrante California in 2016, and has worked in many parts of the school, including the Director of the After School Program as well as a grades and early childhood classroom assistant before taking her first class nine years ago. She holds a Liberal Studies degree from Columbia College and is beginning an undergraduate program with the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Her interests include gardening, Sunday morning breakfasts, social renewal, creating upcycled art from many mediums, paddle boarding and exploring Detroit with her family.
