Rachel first visited a Waldorf kindergarten classroom in 1999 and has been inspired by the thoughtful curriculum ever since. She has certificates in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from the Waldorf Institute of Southeastern Michigan and a BA from the University of Michigan. Rachel is so pleased to join the Detroit Waldorf School community. Previously she taught games classes at the Brighton Steiner School in Brighton, England and worked for many years at the Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor. There she taught classroom and forest based kindergarten, assisted in grades one and two and substituted in every grade, as well as handwork. Rachel has led cycling and hiking tours in Europe, and loves to sew, spend time outdoors and meet new people.
