Faculty: Susann Eddy
Pedagogical/Therapeutic Eurythmist
Susann Eddy is an active eurythmist in the greater Detroit area and has been a long-time member of the Detroit Waldorf School community. She completed her four-year artistic eurythmy training in Dornach, Switzerland, and several years later, an additional three-year therapeutic eurythmy training in the United States. She received her B.A. from Mercy College of Detroit while studying to become a Waldorf teacher with a focus on Special Education at the Waldorf Institute of Mercy College.
Born and raised in Switzerland, Susann began her work with children as a class teacher in a Waldorf School for students with special needs in Vienna, Austria. Later, she worked with children in therapeutic care communities near Basel, Switzerland and Toronto, Canada. These experiences led her to pursue both eurythmy and therapeutic eurythmy, having witnessed the incredible effect that these practices had on the students in her care.
Susann loves to walk in nature, read, listen to music, knit, travel and meet people from around the world. She is the mother of two adult children who are very grateful for their educational experiences at the Detroit Waldorf School.
